Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2018
Aromas of sea salt, fresh stewed apples, white nectarine, salted preserved lemon and fresh brioche. The palate jumps out of the glass with apple, sugar snap pea, hints of cassis and white currant. The finish is creamy and long – there is an almond meal/crushed cashew character that just sneaks in and wraps things up.
A Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend, made with the intention of showcasing as much fruit purity and intensity as possible. The Margaret River region affords us ideal growing conditions for these two varieties; the Sauvignon Blanc contributing bright fruit characters and the barrel fermented Semillon providing the structure, texture and mid-palate weight required to make this not just a delicious early drinking, bright aromatic expression of SBS, but also a texturally interesting and complex wine.
93 Points - The Real Review - Huon Hooke
"Very light-straw colour, with a charming aroma of dried herbs, the palate delicate and softly rounded, yet fresh and alive, with good intensity and appealing if straightforward flavour. No greenness: ripe grapes are evident. It drinks well now but will also take some age well." - Huon Hooke
