2019 was a cool year in Margaret River, and it was responsible for a collection of wines that are aromatic, precise, minerally and fine.

This cabernet has raspberry, pomegranate, cassis, blackberry and mulberry on the nose, all of it punctuated with soft-eating licorice, clove and aniseed.

On the palate it is plush and mouth filling, with graphite tannins that shape the wine in the mouth. As the wine fades through the finish it reveals a tail of black salted licorice, cassis and a sprinkling of pepper.

Drink it now or over the coming 10-15 years, however the sweet spot is going to come around in 5-7 years.

93 Points - The Real Review - Huon Hooke

"Deep red colour with a good tint of purple. The bouquet is very cabernet and very regional, with lots of cassis and violets, a hint of nori amongst the crushed-leaf and mint, while the palate is full-bodied and firm but not at all tough or astringent, the tannins are supple and the oak is well under control. A very solid cabernet with a bright future, which can already be broached, especially if there's protein on the table." Huon Hooke
