Australia’s Top Vineyards – The 5th Annual Vineyard of the Year Awards
Marri Wood Park has just been announced amongst the finalists of the 5th annual Young Gun of Wines Vineyard of the Year Awards.
With over 6,000 grape growers across Australia, we are overjoyed to be one of the 41 finalists for Vineyard of the Year, just six of those being from WA.
As winemakers frequently say, “great wine is made in the vineyard.”
From the Young Gun of Wine announcement:
Wine writer and author Max Allen has been on the judging panel for the Awards since their inception. For him, the virtue of the Awards goes far beyond picking finalists. “The Awards process enables us to dig deep into the best practices and share insights,” he says.
“There are so many great growers out there and we want to share their stories. These awards are a celebration of a large group and a collective mission each year, and our focus is around highlighting leading vineyards and growers to promote the common objective.”
To be recognised, even amongst the finalists, is a wonderful achievement for the Marri Wood Park vineyard.
Our commitment to the health of our patch, to the longevity of the vines, and to the broader environment in which we operate – is at the core of our operations.
Sustainability is the fundamental element of these awards, and a cardinal component of Marri Wood Park.
The season of rest we have entered at the vineyard, is just merely the latest proof point of how much we listen to the bush. The vines called for a rest, and we listened.
The Vineyard of the Year Awards are about championing the pursuit of grape and wine quality. They recognise the place and person hand-in-hand; identifying viticulturalists who are committed to improving vineyard health.
The Vineyard of the Year Awards were created in 2020 to advance the regional identity of Australian wine and promote leading edge sustainability and innovation in winegrowing.
