Chenin Blanc with immense cellaring potential is what Marri Wood Park are well known for, and this is another stunning vintage.
2023 is showing a beautifully luminous pale gold in the glass, with bright, fresh, lifted notes of green and red apples, sea spray and a hint of fresh toast on the nose.
On the palate there is beautifully crisp acid, complemented by some chalky undertones, more crunchy red apple flavours and a lingering mouth pleasing finish.
This is looking fantastic now, and will happily sit in your cellar for at least 10 years, if not longer.

Nick Ryan - The Weekend Australian - 95 points
"Peterkin's feel for what Chenin needs to shine is on show here. It suggests pickeled melon rind and lemon thyme, preserved lemon and raw oats. Waxed and buffed phenolics provide deftly deployed grip. There's a fulness without extraneous fat. Impressive energy and drive." (October 2024)
Paul Edwards - The West Australian Newspaper - 95 points
"Whether it's the detailed biodynamic farming or the deft hand of winemaker Nic Peterkin, this underpriced, topnotch Chenin has become one of my favourites over the last three vintages. The new release 2023 is shy at first, but opens up with time in the glass. It is characterised by a pretty, floral fruitiness - think apple blossom and pear skin. This is balanced with dry, mineral flavours of sea spray and graphite, and a varietally typical candle wax and lanolin. The combined elements provide for a delicious, fleshy wine. Complex but easy drinking."
Erin Larkin - Wine Advocate - 93 points
"In Western Australia, the 2023 vintage appears to have extracted some of the best wines in memory from many producers, across all regions and varieties. Long, mild and dry, the growing season was devoid of undue anxiety or pressure, and the wines show an effortlessness and ease that is ultra attractive. On the nose, this 2023 Chenin Blanc leads with fresh pressed linen, white chocolate, white currant, juniper, spring flowers and green apples. In the mouth, the wine shows the purity and flow of the season, with a firm presence of oak, which will no doubt integrate in time, as it's already on the way there. This was biodynamically grown, handpicked and sorted in the family-owned Demeter-certified vineyard, then cold pressed and matured in French oak for 10 months."
