Chenin Blanc with immense cellaring potential is what Marri Wood Park are well known for, and this is another stunning vintage.
2022 is showing a beautifully luminous pale gold in the glass, with bright, fresh, lifted notes of green and red apples, sea spray and a hint of fresh toast on the nose.
On the palate there is beautifully crisp acid, complemented by some chalky undertones, more crunchy red apple flavours and a lingering mouth pleasing finish.
This is looking fantastic now, and will happily sit in your cellar for at least 10 years, if not longer.
AWARDS & REVIEWS:
“Nose is elegant and compelling with lovely florals and white pear,” brags Carbonneau. “Palate is excellent, with good flavour, intensity and concentration. Great balance and length. A fine wine.” “The complexity in the fruit profile is extraordinary, showing maturity in winemaking, excellence in viticulture,”
MAX CRUS - 9.5/10
"... a worthy alternative to a posh Chardonnay."
WINE PILOT - Emma Farrelly, January 2024
"From a biodynamic vineyard in Yallingup, there is a gorgeous lift of warm lemon skin, nashi pear and sweet white florals. Incredibly juicy and bright, with expansive drive and length. The acid is poised yet gentle with a lick of oak offering texture and weight. Mouthwateringly delicious, I love this wine." 95 points.
WINE PILOT - Jeni Port, January 2024
“Chenin Blanc is having a moment and Margaret River is ready. The region’s strong points can be seen and enjoyed here. Fully ripened fruit brings forth lifted aromatics – honeysuckle, acacia, citrus blossom – which run the length and breadth of the wine, together with citrus, baked apple, spice and almond meal. Just a splash of botanicals – a smidgeon – together with a peppery twist is a brilliant added touch. Everything is in balance, including the lovely, lemony bright acidity to close. A textural lovely that puts a spotlight on Chenin Blanc.” 95 points
