White Wine - Le Vin Blanc
With so many of the world’s white wine varieties originating from French regions, it would seem only fair that we take our hats off to the inhabitants of l’Hexagone as we get ready for Spring and celebrate these beautiful wines.
The fourth of August marked National White Wine Day, or as the French would say… la journée du vin blanc.
Here at Marri Wood Park our white varietals have been a hallmark of our winemaking, and a key pillar of our origins since the late 90s. It was in 1992 that we planted our first vines at Marri Wood Park, the dream was to make a bone-dry age worthy Chenin. Now more than 30 years later, our current and museum release Chenin’s are just one of the white varietals lining the Cellar Door shelves.
To celebrate the recent National White Wine Day, we’ve collated a catalogue of our illustrious les vin blancs.

"Cloudy apple juice, shaved parmesan and ocean spray sit side by side with the spritzy lime zest and yeasty complexity. A combination of high-class French cider merged with classic the WA vitality of orchard fruit." Jane Faulkner
SPARKLING CHENIN 2018

Gold | Best Sparkling Wine Australian Chenin Blanc Challenge 2023
Texturally creamy and very tight, with delicate Chenin Blanc flavours that duck and dive between the bubbles of fine bead. This has granny smith apple, fresh lime with good line and acidity. Soft and very pretty now, with no shortage of race and pace in the mouth.

"Shining green grass and glistening orchard fruits with a pep of jalapeño pepper perfectly tamed by flinty toast and serious saline characters. Classy and clever." Decanter judges.

Gold | Australian Chenin Blanc Challenge
Our 2009 Reserve Chenin Blanc is a rare wine, made under the watchful eye of legendary winemaker Bob Cartwright, with a specific wish to be age-worthy. It now has spent over 14 years in the bottle and is ageing beautifully. A fantastic example of how graceful and long-lived great Chenin Blanc can be, it is sparkling mid-gold in the glass, bright and intense on the nose, and still looks super-tight.
For a truly unforgettable experience, try it alongside the 2023 Chenin - you can pick up both at The Wine Store.
